bobby_meiklejohn
Mrs Bobby Meiklejohn is one of the school’s three level 3 advanced skills teachers. She is a dedicated, passionate teacher who believes all children can learn and achieve given the right support. As one of the school’s learning support coordinators, Mrs Meiklejohn works in conjunction with teachers and the school psychologist to develop Individual Education Plans for children who are experiencing difficulties. She also coordinates a group of community volunteers who help out in classrooms.

Students at Dunsborough Primary School are encouraged and guided in their journey to become valued members of the community. We expect and develop high standards of behaviour and civic mindeness in our students and have in place support andrewards for those who achieve these goals.  In consultation with our students, parents, staff and the wider community the following Code Of Conduct for students have been developed to help all students at Dunsborough Primary achieve academic and social success and make Dunsborough a better community.
RESPECT AND CONCERN FOR OTHERS AND THEIR RIGHTS
  • Being tolerant, communicating and not doing put downs.
  • Treating everyone at school in the way you’d like to be treated by them.
  • Never accepting bullying by standing by and allowing it to happen.
  • Become a part of the Peer Mediation programme.
  • Always asking if you borrow someone’s equipment, never just take it.
  • Taking turns and sharing.
A PURSUIT OF KNOWLEDGE AND A COMMITMENT TO ACHIEVEMENT OF POTENTIAL.
  • Setting goals each term at school and checking to see how you’re going.
  • Pushing yourself rather than coasting through school.
  • Concentrating, listening and not being distracted by others.
  • Not being afraid to make mistakes, taking risks and not giving up.
SELF ACCEPTANCE AND RESPECT OF SELF.
  • Being yourself and not being pressured into being like someone else.
  • Finding out what you really believe in and behaving in a way that shows that.
  • Feeling comfortable with yourself and knowing others are comfortable around you.
COMMUNITY RESPONSIBILITY.
  • Becoming involved in a community project by actually doing something that shows you value your community eg;
    • Tree planting
    • Christmas banners
    • Clean Up Australia
    • Ribbons of Blue
    • Clean drains or bus shelter painting schemes.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
  • Never dropping litter and being prepared to pick up any litter that you see.
  • Supporting the school’s recycling programme.
  • Getting involved with tree planting.
  • Making sure lights and fans are off when no-one’s in the classroom, to conserve energy.
  • Using recycling bins in every classroom.
  • Walking or riding to school rather than coming by car, to cut down on pollution.
