Passwords
One of the most important tips for safe browsing is making sure your children never give out passwords or, where possible, user names for websites or applications they use online. Many children share their ‘msn’ password with friends. This is normally harmless, however in the case that children have a falling out, this can become quite dangerous and can lead to cyber bullying.
Cyber Bullying
Cyber bullying is, obviously, bullying that occurs in cyber space, or the internet. It may occur on chat sites, message boards or children’s websites, where a child is harassed or spoken badly about. One easy way of checking if your child is being cyber bullied is to ‘google’ your child’s name (or msn name, or any other internet monickers they may use). This will bring up any time your child has been spoken about online on websites or message boards (but not chat sites) and can give you a good idea of what is going on. That is all for this week!
