bobby_meiklejohn
Mrs Bobby Meiklejohn is one of the school’s three level 3 advanced skills teachers. She is a dedicated, passionate teacher who believes all children can learn and achieve given the right support. As one of the school’s learning support coordinators, Mrs Meiklejohn works in conjunction with teachers and the school psychologist to develop Individual Education Plans for children who are experiencing difficulties. She also coordinates a group of community volunteers who help out in classrooms.

“Catering for the different learning needs of our students” has been identified by staff as one of our key priority areas for 2009 (the other priority area is “improved writing outcomes for students”.)  To support this priority Dunsborough Primary will have a teaching and learning focus in 2009 on Goal Setting.

We welcome back Mrs Deb Vickery, Mrs Bobby Meiklejohn and Mrs Beth McDonald from leave. Mrs Vickery and Mrs Meiklejohn will be teaching two of our Y2 classes in 2009 with Mrs McDonald resuming as our specialist Languages Other Than Teaching (LOTE) Teacher, teaching Japanese to all classes from years 3 to 7.

We also welcome to our staff some new faces in 2009. Mrs Pauline Price has been appointed from Joondalup Primary to teach one of our PP classes (Room 2) during 2009 as part of a mobility transfer with Ms Jodie Ireland while Mrs Janine Cameron, Mrs Kate White and Mrs Jodie Green have all been appointed to the school as extra Education Assistants in 2009.

Dear Parents, as we are endeavouring to reduce waste in our school we will continue with “Litter Free” lunches in 2009. These will occur on the first Tuesday of each month unless otherwise notified. Faction tickets will be given to all children with litter free (ie no cling wrap, food wrappers etc) lunch and recess food. Three main prizes will then be selected from these tickets.

Thank you to all those who provided on the Mathletics program. We will be using it again in 2009 and the annual subscription has been included on the booklists. Students will continue to have access to the program throughout the holidays - great for keeping those minds active and challenged. Students will be rolled over into their new classes at the start of February.
 
DPS Achieves Waterwise Accreditation PDF Print E-mail

Dunsborough Primary School will receive its official accreditation as a “Waterwise” school during next Friday’s regular Assembly on December 5 starting at 9.00am. To receive this accreditation our school has had to meet several stringent criteria including being able to demonstrate that every class in the school from K – 7 has completed a “waterwise” teaching and learning program this year.
