bobby_meiklejohn
Mrs Bobby Meiklejohn is one of the school’s three level 3 advanced skills teachers. She is a dedicated, passionate teacher who believes all children can learn and achieve given the right support. As one of the school’s learning support coordinators, Mrs Meiklejohn works in conjunction with teachers and the school psychologist to develop Individual Education Plans for children who are experiencing difficulties. She also coordinates a group of community volunteers who help out in classrooms.

“Catering for the different learning needs of our students” has been identified by staff as one of our key priority areas for 2009 (the other priority area is “improved writing outcomes for students”.)  To support this priority Dunsborough Primary will have a teaching and learning focus in 2009 on Goal Setting.

All children in the school will be taught how to set goals and will be given the strategies and tools needed to develop actions and monitor their progress towards achieving their goals. We are hopeful the implementation of goal setting as a regular part of our classroom routines will have immediate and long term benefits for all our students.

Parents will have a crucial role in supporting their children in developing, actioning and monitoring their goal setting. Class teachers will be communicating with parents shortly about how they will be implementing goal setting. Your support and encouragement of this exciting initiative, as always, will be very much appreciated.
